Celebrating the 800 years of the Custody
The Magnificat Institute is honored to offer a Thanksgiving concert for the 800 years of the Franciscan presence in the Holy Land. The first Franciscan friars, in fact, landed in Acre in 1217, led by Friar Elia da Cortona. 800 years have gone by and the friars are still present in the Holy Land where they are dedicated to the safeguarding of the places important to Christianity and to supporting the local people.
The concert — which will take place at St. Saviour's Church in Jerusalem's Old City on Wednesday, October 18 — will feature the orchestras of the Magnificat conducted by Maestro Michael Klinghoffer and Maestro Robert Canetti. The event is scheduled to start at 5 p.m.
